You are getting better and better--you deserve credit of all this work--good luck on finding out what happened to the camera :-)

These are such great new character designs! And of course you're improving :) We all are improving in our little different ways and at different pace.
I would like to try to help with the camera problem(since I love cameras too). Perhaps you need to switch it to Macro mode first(usually the symbol that looks like a flower/tulip)? Or press the shutter button half way through and hold for it to focus before hitting it all the way down? Lighting is sometimes the problem, under low light condition the camera wouldn't be able to focus too unless you have the flash on. I usually take the pictures with high ISO setting under my table lamp. It's grainy a little but it's usually in focus ;)
I hope these helps. Good luck!

Your gnomes are very sweet, Thom. You've inspired me to keep practicing my drawing, I miss it.
